RED CARPET CHRISTMAS!

Yesterday was the first day of classes for the spring semester. We got together with the team and shared some Christmas stories. Raise your hand if you got to sit next to some stars at the People's Choice Awards. I wanted to share some pictures from Madi Nitta’s Christmas break. I say that was a decent Christmas break...

Jeff came out to California for a week and a half to spend some quality Christmas time with the Nitta family.

MAKING THE GRADE!

What do Laura Avila, Lindsey Butterfield, Libby Dachenhaus, and Kaitlyn Skinner all have in common (besides being Falcons)? They all had 4.0’s this past fall. CONGRATULATIONS! As a matter of fact we had 9 players with GPA’s this fall of 3.66 or higher. We are well on our way to our 11 consecutive AVCA Team Academic Award. This team put a lot of hard work in both the gym and the classroom this fall. CONGRATS again to our 4.0 students!

CONGRATULATIONS!

Congratulations Ashley Herzberg on being named to the 2010 Academic All-MAC Team! She was one of 18 student-athletes selected by the faculty athletic representatives of the 12 MAC institutions. Herzberg played in 31 of our 32 matches this year, was a primary passer, and finished with 130 digs. Ashley is one of the hardest workers on the team and it showed both on the court and in the classroom. Herzberg is a Nursing major and has a cumulative GPA of 3.94! That is awesome! With her athleticism and work ethic, she definitely earned this honor. Congrats again Ashley!

Uncompromising and Committed: "HARDCORE!"

"Hardcore" is what Ashley Dunn had to say about her lift today. She and Danielle Tonyan hit the weight room one last time before leaving for break. At least one last time before Danielle heads home to Chicago. I believe Dunner will be spending Christmas at home in BG! Judging by the post lifting picture - I would say they attacked the workout today!

UGLY SWEATERS?

I just wanted to update you on what is going on at BG. Last week we held our annual team Christmas party. Just like last year, the theme was ugly sweater party. :) We had a gift exchange, a white elephant ornament exchange, ate snacks, and just enjoyed an evening of hanging out with good friends. :)

This week is finals week at BGSU and most of the players are finished and heading home for the holidays. Pictures and quotes for this blog entry were provided by Ashley Dunn. Upper left picture is a team picture from our Christmas party at Coach’s house. In the top right picture are Danielle Tonyan and Ashley Dunn.
