CHECK THIS OUT! #1 IN OUR OPINION!

Throughout the summer, BGSU athletics will be releasing our list of the Top 10 Moments of the 2009-10 athletic year at BGSU. The list was compiled and voted on by members of the Athletics Department administration and the Athletic Communications office. We think this one is #1!

Bowling Green Volleyball Coach Denise Van De Walle Wins 500th Career Match
No volleyball coach in the history of the Mid-American Conference has won more matches than BGSU's Denise Van De Walle and she reached milestone win No. 500 in 2009 with style. Heading into the MAC Tournament, Van De Walle stood at 499 career wins and the team went on the road as an underdog to play rival Toledo in the opening round. The Falcons, as the No. 11 seed, faced the No. 6 seed looking to avenge a loss earlier in the year. Sure enough, Bowling Green won the first two sets but dropped the next two, forcing the match to a deciding fifth. The Falcons came away with the 15-12 win to give Van De Walle her 500th career victory. For more, read the match story here: 500 Wins For Van De Walle!
